Hrithik Roshan

As usual, I was studying in my room at 1.00 PM and was totally immersed in my studies. At about 1.01 PM, I took my cell phone which was lying beside my monitor and checked for any SMS or missed calls. But there were no messages and missed calls, but I noticed my cellphone was running out of battery.  I was about to connect my cellphone to charger, suddenly I got a call from unknown number. I received the call without connecting to charger.

And here goes the conversation:

The guy at the other end: Hello
Me: Hello!
Guy: Can I speak to Ganesh ?
Me: Sorry, its wrong number.
Guy: Wrong number ?
Guy: #%&#**^!
Me: huh ?
Me: Who do you want ?
Guy: Ganesh,
Guy: Hey, its me Hindi Film Actor, Hrithik Roshan!
Me: What ?

Guy: Yes (And suddenly I was able to recognize his voice and his way of speaking)(I wasn’t excited, but shocked!)
Me: No, sorry sir its wrong number.
Hrithik: Sorry!
(And hung up immediately)

Soon after that, I saved the number and noted the call duration. The call lasted for 25 Seconds.

I couldn’t believe myself for few minutes. I analyzed the number and it was from Bangalore and it wasn’t a cellphone number. It is either a fixed landline or the CDMA wireless phone. The number starts from 4 ;) . Though I live in Bangalore, I can’t exactly make out the service provider of that number.

I think he wanted to speak with Kannada film actor Ganesh and ended up with me. I don’t know why he was in Bangalore. But an interesting fact is, I live in a place called “Kirloskar Layout”, 15 KMs off from the Bangalore’s city center. Just 300 meters away from my home, there is a huge area called Chikkabidarakallu. 1 KM off from Chikkabidarakallu’s Bus stand, there is a huge a Estate called Feroz Khan Estate. Yeah, this estate belongs to Hindi film industries classic Feroz Khan. And AFAIK, he spends his free time here. And this was the Estate where Hrithik Roshan got married with Feroz Khan’s daughter Suzanne!

Click here to read the article about Hrithik’s marriage in Feroz Khan’s estate, if you can’t believe it. He was married in the estate and was celebrated in Golden Palms Spa, which is another 8 KM from my home. And even if you search for “Chikkabidarakallu” in google, you can find about his marriage article and about the Feroz Khan’s estate in the second or the first page.

Feroz Khan’s estate is a hotspot to see celebrities. The estate is so good and attractive, it is used to shoot films too often by many film industries across India. I have seen a large number of Hindi Celebrites here during his marriage, back in 2000.

I lived in chikkabidarakallu for 6 years and moved to Kirloskar layout 2 years back. And I think, Hrithik has a strong bondage to this area, coz he called me, and I’m a guy who belongs to that area also where her spouse belongs to ;)

And I feel i’m kinda lucky coz Hrithik called me and I spoke to him and everyday I used to switch off my cellphone, while i’m study, but I didn’t today! :)

Introduction

Wordpress is a blogging software developed using PHP and runs on MySQL.

If you are a wordpress theme developer or a plugin developer, or just want to do some experiments with wordpress code, you may need to upload the changes you made and see if it is working or not. This tutorial will eliminate the need of uploading the files to your server. You can do all those tests right in your computer easily.

Things you need to install wordpress in your computer.

Since PHP is a Server-Side script, you can’t install a wordpress blog on your computer without installing PHP. In order to install wordpress on your computer, you need to install three main applications, those are PHP, MySQL and Apache Server. While MySQL is used to store all your database tables like, posts, comments, blogroll and pages etc, Apache server is a web server and it is responsible to deliver the output on web browser.

WampServer and Installation.

Instead of installing all these applications individually, you can just download and install a program called WampServer 2.0. For linux you can install a software called LAMP or the LampServer.

WampServer stands for Windows Apache MySQL PHP. Which means it installs all those applications at one time easily. Installing WampServer on your computer doesn’t require you to be a Rocket Scientist. All you need to do is just download and install it in few clicks. By default, WampServer 2.0 will be installed in your “c:\wamp”. And if you have installed WAMP5 earlier, you need to uninstall it before installing WampSever 2.0.

After you install WampServer on you computer, your windows firewall may ask to block or unblock, just unblock it. In order to test whether if the WampServer is installed properly or not, launch the WampServer from your desktop or All Programs. The WampServer runs in your system tray.

Remove unwanted smiley border in wordpress.

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

A problem arises when you add image borders. An unwanted ugly border will appear around the smiley whenever you or someone inserts it. This can be eliminated by adding a line of CSS code into your theme’s Stylesheet, keeping the image borders intact.

To remove the border, follow these steps:

1. Go to your wordpress Admin CP.
2. Click on Presentation and the select the theme for which you want to add image border.
3. Click on “Theme Editor”
4. Open “Stylesheet” or “style.css” whatever from the right hand list.
5. Now you must be able see the CSS codes.

Now copy and paste this code in a new line after any “ } “ close tag.

img.wp-smiley{ border:none;}

This will remove the ugly borders around those smilies keeping image borders intact.

I made accidental clicks, i reported, google treated me well!

Friday, February 1st, 2008

Well, this is not just my experience, but from this new adsense users may come to know about “what to after accidental clicks”!

Yesterday, I made 2 – 3 accidental clicks due to some error in Opera 9.50 beta. (Links will be assigned to different elements.. a major bug ). It took quite a long time to load, so i click 2 – 3 times. Then I was shocked to see a different sites opening, then i suddenly came back and saw the relavent ad. I didn’t panic.

I just headed over to adsense forum and then posted about what happened (thread) and someone suggested me to mail to adsense support, then I did. I got a reply in 10 minutes stating me to use Help Center.

It also said me to reply to that mail, if u wont get any quick response. I didnt get any good response there.. so then just saw the thread once again in adsense forum, then I got a new suggestion from a member called “Janet Maria “. he said me to “There is a accidental click report form available at www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/request.py . Try using that.”. Then I did that, and it was very easy to fillout.

Then after 30 – 45 Minutes, I got another mail stating:

Thanks for letting us know about the clicks on your ads. We appreciate your honesty and your efforts to keep your account in good standing. Although publishers are not permitted to click on their own ads for any reason, we do understand that accidental clicks may occur, so we don’t require that you contact us every time you click on your ads.

I was quite relaxed after seeing how google is kindful for such issues.

Then, again in adsense forum, I got a reply from another google guy “AdSensePro Stephanie” stating:

Thanks for your honesty — we realize that accidental clicks can
happen, and since we monitor account activity we don’t require
publishers to report them to us each time. I’d recommend reading this
past blog post for additional clarification:

An Eye-Opener! :)
