India Becomes Hot Spot for Satellite Launches!

Monday, August 11th, 2008

GeosynchronousPhew! One of the coolest news I’ve ever read!

I found this news from VOA News. And here’s an excerpt:

India is getting into the business of launching satellites, giving rise to a new space race. The country’s space program recently put 10 small satellites in orbit, all in one go, an achievement topped only by Russia. The launch signaled India’s desire to capture a larger share of the global commercial satellite launch market – a $90-billion-a-year industry that, so far, has been dominated by the U.S. and Russia. Raymond Thibodeaux reports from Bangalore, India’s space agency headquarters.

Pain in the back of my head!

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

I started to feel a strange kinda pain at the back of my head from yesterday night. A soft pain at the right side of my back head. Just beside my right ear. Yesterday night, I thought it could be some small problem and will be alright when I wake up in the morning. And it was kinda okay in the morning. But after sometime, the pain appeared once again. The pain isn’t hurting me too much, but it makes me not to do anything for a long time in a same gesture. It keeps paining.. Softly.. Weird.

The worst FTP upload ever!

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

Err.. I had a bad Sunday today. Everyday, as soon as I wake up, I check for new mails on the bed from my Opera Mini. I did the same today and was excited to see a new mail regarding the release of myBB 1.4 Bulletin Board Software. I was waiting for the release from past 8 months. Well yes it’s the major release. And was also excited to upgrade my BSNL EVDO CLUB Forum.

As soon as I completed all my daily morning rituals, I started the FileZilla FTP Client and connected to the server. All set… Read the documents…. And finally started the upload process. It was 750+ Files and 6 MB upload. Just after few minutes, my ISP went down. Almost 2 MB (150+) files were uploaded. After 30 minutes, ISP was up, and resumed the upload process. My net connection was really bad at that moment, yet it was pretty good. Have a look at the below screenshot. My ZTE EVDO app is highlighted in the screenshot, notice: it has no signal bars!

Send Your Name into Space with the Kepler Mission!!

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

No, its not a joke. Its a program called “Name in Space”. Your name will be stored on DVD and will be sent along with the Kepler to the space!

Kepler mission is NASA’s first mission to find the planets that are Earth-Sized. And also it orbits around other stars in our galaxy.

Or you can read the excerpt from the official site:

Kepler is NASA’s first mission capable of detecting Earth-size and smaller planets in the habitable zone of solar-like stars. The spacecraft is planned to be launched from Kennedy Space Center in February 2009. The spacecraft will be launched into orbit around the Sun, not the Earth, with an orbital period of 372 days. The spacecraft will slowly drift away from the Earth, such that in about 25 years it will be half an Earth orbit away, 300 million kilometers distant from the Earth, passing behind the Sun as viewed from Earth.

This mission is an attempt to find life on some planet, just like the UFOs visiting us, now we are visiting them :p
