St Maarten Airport – The Wonder Island!

If you don’t know what and where St Maarten is, you may read this wiki article. Dutch people call it St Maarten, French call it St Marten and few others call it St Martin. It is your choice to choose the one which you feel is easy :p
St Maarten is an island in the northeast Carribean. The island is too small and the terrain is unequal. So building an airport here was kind of toughest challenge to many engineers. Somewhere in western tip of the island there is a small narrow passage of land, which apparently been modified by humans to create a flat land and some good enough room for building an airport. From all this efforts, finally the island has got an airport with some hue which attracts many tourists. The reason for this attraction is, the runway is so close to the beach and a perpendicular road that passes just few meters away from it makes people to catch the glimpse of aircrafts approaching the runaway just a few meters above their head!
