Me and Charan started developing Gigasmilies back in Dec 2007 and stopped developing in Feb 2008. But in that short span of time, we released 4 versions and 2 web versions. Charan also decided to buy a dedicated a website for this project and he did. And we moved on from GooglePages to our own site.

Our app became so popular, that it was even featured in India’s No.1 Technology Magazine “Digit” in Jan 2008 Issue.

But later somehow we lost interest in developing Gigasmilies maybe because we found ourselves busy in our real life activities and or lazy developing it. Whatever maybe the reason but we stopped developing it.

Since we now have no further interest in developing GigaSmilies anymore, we decided the gigasmilies.com domain and hosting to expire and it did yesterday (8th Jan 2009). So now gigasmilies.com is dead.

There is also another reason for this idea. Back in Oct 2008, Gigasmilies.com was hacked by some Australian hackers. We still don’t know what was the glitch that led for this hack. But we believe it’s because we didn’t use to manage it properly due to lack of interest. Even after we recovered from the hack, there were many attempts made by those hackers to take over the site once again. So we concluded that gigasmilies.com is a soft target to hackers and there is no point in just protecting it whilst we have stopped developing it.

However Gigasmilies will be still available for download from gigasmilies.googlepages.com.

We hope you still enjoy this piece of app.

History.

Ever since I started this blog, I have changed about 4 themes. Out of which 3 are designed from other Web Designers. But after I became as a Web Designer myself, I started designing many themes for wordpress and I designed a very simple theme for my blog which was just around 30KB in size including images, it was WP-Replica. That was my 4th theme and was designed by myself. I used that theme for more than 6 months.

The Making….

And for a change for this new year, I decided to design a theme for my blog and came up with this theme. I wanted the theme to be clean, elegant and dark. So I started hunting for a good dark abstract wallpaper or image on the web and came up with JosephYang’s Titanium Silver wallpaper. Later I optimized the image to load faster on slower connections. So honestly I did not design the background of this theme. So all credit goes to him.

The year 2008 brought bit a change in my life. They are like this:

• I became a Web Designer.
• My degree course started.
• I started earning a bit from web designing…
• I became lazy..
• I started BSNL EVDO CLUB and ThemeBin.
• I started tweeting..
• I started watching too many movies…
• I started learning PHP
• I missed old friends.. met new friends..
• Became internet addict.
• And many more…
Anyways.. My new year resolution is simple.. I promised myself that I will start shaving my beard once in 2 days.

Enough of my personal things.. here’s what happened to the world in 2008.

What?

Nothing serious, but I am going to Mysore for my cousin sister’s daughter’s naming ceremony for three days (13 – 15 Dec). Will this make a record? No!

The thing is, I have scheduled about 10 posts for my website themebin.com which includes many types of wallpaper, icons and more. Those posts will publish on 13^th, 14^th and 15^th of this month (Dec 2008) automatically when I am away from my PC in Mysore.

If I DO NOT manage to reach Mysore safely (killed in an accident), I will make a record by publishing posts on a blog after my death!

Hehe… sounds funny, but maybe it will make a record :p

Now all you have to wait and see is, whether I make it or not. I will tweet on my twitter microblog, if I fail to make it (i.e if I reach safely). So keep watching at my tweets :p

Update: I came back to bangalore and to my home safely.. so EPIC FAIL Will try again next time..

Yup, I finally started using Twitter from past few weeks and twitting every now and then.

Twitter is so fun, it keeps you in touch with your pals and other important people you like or hate
